One question we hear often from prospective donors is: "How do I know my donation actually reaches the people it is meant to help?" It is a fair question — and one we take seriously.
How KFF Is Different
Most charitable organizations — even well-meaning ones — spend a portion of every donated dollar on administration: staff salaries, office space, marketing, and overhead. Industry benchmarks suggest that spending 70–80% of donations on programs is considered "good." At KFF, we took a different approach from the start.
Our founders personally cover 100% of KFF's operating expenses. That means website costs, legal and accounting fees, mailing costs, and any other expenses needed to run the foundation come directly from the Kesselhaut family — not from donations. Every Director and Officer of KFF serves entirely without compensation.
What This Means for Your Gift
When you donate to The Kesselhaut Family Foundation, virtually 100% of your gift goes directly to the programs you care about — military family lodging, Lyme Disease treatment grants, or learning disabilities support. No middlemen. No administrative fees. Just impact.
KFF is a registered IRS 501(c)(3) private foundation, EIN 20-5615950. Your donation is fully tax-deductible under IRS code sections 170, 2055, 2106, and 2522.
