Located at Camp Pendleton, California, the Department of Defense comfort home serves as a sanctuary for military families whose loved ones are receiving critical medical treatment nearby. In these moments of uncertainty and strain, having a safe, welcoming place to stay provides more than shelter—it offers peace of mind and the priceless comfort of togetherness.
Since 2015, the Kesselhaut Family Foundation has proudly covered the full cost of lodging at this comfort home, ensuring that families never face the impossible choice between being at a loved one’s bedside and shouldering the financial burden of accommodation. To date, over 3,900 nights of lodging have been provided, each one a testament to our unwavering support for those who serve and the families who stand beside them. This program is a tangible way of giving back, honoring their sacrifices by lifting one significant worry from their shoulders during some of life’s most challenging times.
What sets this initiative apart is its purity of purpose—100% of all donations go directly to funding family stays, with zero overhead costs.
